I recently had the great pleasure of working with Greta while directing the dramatised elements of the documentary series “Escaping Utopia”, which tells the story of former members of the Gloriavale community. 

Casting is a fine art in general, but the added pressure of casting actors to represent real people whose stories are graphic and harrowing is on another level altogether. Greta had come highly recommended to me by a respected producer, and to say that I was impressed by her work would be a gross understatement. 

Greta absolutely threw herself into deep research around the people and their stories, and that commitment and attention to detail absolutely paid off. She went above and beyond in terms of finding the right talent and proved herself adept at thinking outside the box when we were struggling to cast a key role. Aside from her skill in finding the talent, she also worked incredibly hard to inform and support the cast through the entire process. As the material was of a sensitive nature and involved many young children, her application of duty of care was exemplary and absolutely invaluable. 

With her energy, intelligence and commitment, Greta turned what had been an area of great concern for me into a joyous and collaborative process that genuinely elevated the final product. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
